Website accessibility is often ignored or misunderstood. By entrusting us with their project for a website aimed at people with disabilities and their carers, the APF, who initiated the project, made us aware of the issue, involved teams from the network, and we exchanged ideas right from the brief project. The result is a site designed BY and FOR people with disabilities, and we're very proud of it ;)
The remarkable aspect of this accessibility work is the use of light typefaces on a dark background, which is more accessible thanks to its high contrasts. We had read all and sundry about the comfort of reading against a dark or light background, but finally the debate was settled by those concerned: the dark background won! So we took this constraint into account to create a complete web design with comfortable contrast, while remaining pleasant and colourful.
